This console table in Nicole’s dining room is a classic piece and can be used with any style. I love the wood.
A console table is perfect for your entryway. I like to add a mirror above it and place a decorative bowl to stash keys and other items that you might want to grab before going out the door.
DESIGNER TIP: mix the finishes when styling your console table. For example, if you have a console made of wood, use a mirror with a metal frame and a decorative ceramic bowl. Add a plant and some books and you’re set!
This console table makes a statement! Look at all the texture. I love the symmetry of everything on the wall.
This one from Studio McGee is another stunner. Perfect setup for an entry.
Often, I will slide a bench or 2 ottomans under the console table so you or your guest has a place to sit and put on shoes.
Some stairways just call out to a console table. I will set up a console with 2 lamps and a piece of art. You can’t go wrong with this setup. It’s beautiful and makes a statement. This way also works well in a dining room if you don’t need the storage of a buffet.
I love the sconces that flank the mirror here. Simple but gorgeous!
Sometimes you want a console for décor. It’s a great place to add a few seasonal items throughout the year. In a living room you can slide a couple of baskets under the console to corral some of the kids’ toys or books. Baskets are also great for holding blankets or extra pillows.
So, what do you think? Is a console table the most versatile furniture piece? How do you have it set up in your home? Do share!
