Jul 17, 2024

In a previous post, I discussed the reasons why I may not be the right designer for your project. Now, I’ve decided to switch things up a little and take you behind the scenes on how we choose our interior design clients and projects. So, if you’re interested in learning more about working with a designer, keep reading because this is an information-packed blog post you won’t want to miss!

Behind The Scenes: Choosing Our Interior Design Clients And Projects

Behind The Scenes: Choosing Our Interior Design Clients and Projects

When investing in a service, you want to choose the ideal provider who meets your needs and aligns with your vision, goals, and style as well as budget. Similarly, interior designers have several factors to consider before taking on clients and projects.

We carefully select our projects to provide our clients with the best experience from start to finish. We focus on their needs to complete each project successfully.

Choosing our design projects and clients allows us to:

  1. Provide you with the best service and experience throughout the project.
  2. Guide you to make the ideal decisions for your space.
  3. Show you the possibilities within your project and the multiple solutions you can achieve.
  4. Design a timeless space that will love for a long time.
  5. Most importantly, we provide a home that will fit your lifestyle and become a place you love.

If you're wondering what it would be like to work with An Inspiring Home,
check out our design process and inquire about our services today.

Let’s continue with each step in choosing our design clients and projects.

Behind The Scenes: Choosing Our Interior Design Clients And Projects

#1. Project Type

Our specialty is home renovations and custom furnishings.
We love exploring homes and providing clients with the solutions they need.

Our
full-service design transforms an entire space into one that matches your family's design style and is functional to your lifestyle. Our specialty is kitchens and bathrooms, but we also love remodeling living rooms, bedrooms, dining rooms, and everything in between.

We ask for the opportunity to fully renovate or transform one room with all new furnishings. While we focus on the main design, we can also assist with additional requests, such as a rug for the bedroom or accessories to complete the dining room.

The best part is that we work closely with our clients, keeping their needs and wants in mind and providing them with actual solutions. For example, our
Dreamy Tween Bedroom Project client requested a swing chair, built-ins, a bench at the end of the bed, and a larger dresser for the bedroom. That was a lot to request for one bedroom; however, it turned out even better than our client had imagined!

#2. Design Style

At An Inspiring Home, we love
Modern Transitional Style because it includes clean lines, neutrals, and pops of color in our designs. It also integrates with different styles so well that you will have a space that will last for many years and generate interest whenever you walk into it.

We also like to mix things up depending on our client's needs and wants, adding touches of modernism and essential elements to highlight the whole room. For example, in our
Warm & Timeless Traditional Project, our client requested to keep some of the existing elements in the bathroom, which felt outdated and unbalanced.

Our approach consisted of adding new touches that would harmonize with the existing ones.

We laid the tile in a vertical offset pattern that worked beautifully throughout and went all the way to the shower ceiling. I love that we found a tile that worked beautifully with the floor and existing granite!

#3. Appreciation For the Value of Good Design

Much like collectors who recognize the unique value of each piece, interior designers seek clients that appreciate the significance of exceptional design. By "good design," we mean creating spaces that are both functional and inviting—ensuring they look and feel truly wonderful.

As interior designers, we love working with homeowners who appreciate design choices and those who are firm believers in the unity between look and feel. Ultimately, we work with those who choose quality because they know good design is worth the investment.

Does this sound like you? Then, we would like to meet you and learn more about your project and ideas.

#4. Trust

When you engage with a professional, such as a cleaning service to keep your home sparkling, you likely have confidence these people will accomplish the job according to your expectations.
In the same way, we want our clients to trust us with their projects entirely. As designers, our background and expertise will allow us to complete the job and create a functional and beautiful space.

When you partner with An Inspiring Home, you can trust us to bring your vision to life. We ask only that you keep an open mind; while the result may not mirror your Houzz or Pinterest boards exactly, it will be a unique creation tailored to your family and lifestyle.

Let me share an example from our
Refined Casual Living Project. Our client works from home and asked us to refresh her home office with a Kate Spade look: black, white, and gold. She trusted us with where she spends most of the day.

Our solution included moving the large bookshelf toward the window to take advantage of that wall space. We also added artwork, a window treatment to soften the window, and pink for some pops of color. Now, our client has a special place where she can be productive and feels great about it!

5. A Complete Experience from Start to Finish

For our
full-service design clients, the experience starts with a design consultation and ends with the installation. Even after the installation date, we bring a professional photographer to document our incredible transformation in your space so you can remember how everything has come together.

Working with an interior designer is a complete experience that ends with more than a completed look; it is a satisfying feeling of complete satisfaction for our clients.

There’s a difference between trying to do things yourself and hiring a professional to guide you through each step of making your house feel like home.

Ultimately, we choose our design projects selectively because we want to devote ourselves entirely to the experience and provide you with all the solutions, which we couldn’t do if we would take on everyone who inquires about our services.
This filter allows us to work with clients who trust our expertise and believe in us to transform their place into a home they’ll love.
