The holiday season is just around the corner and in no time those guests are going to be pouring in. (well, maybe not as many this year, thank you, COVID) However, this is the best time to get down to amp up your guesthouse to make the guests feel welcomed. So, read on to get my 6 best tips to get your guest room cozy for the holidays.

The first thing you need to do is clear up the room from A-Z. Make space for the guests to come. This means clearing up all the drawers, closet, the bed space etc. This will let them unpack easily. Think like a hotel, always clean and clutter-free, and don’t forget fresh linens!
Even if you have a small space, always try to accommodate a little sitting area. Even if it means just a chair and a little side table. This will give a very homey feeling and help the guests relax and have a snack alone if wanted.
And don’t forget to add a little throw pillow.
Make sure the room exhibits a calmness. Not everyone is fond of bold colors, so play it safe by adding soft hues. Add a fresh flower vase by the side table when the guests are due. Your guest will feel so welcome!
Resist the urge to over-decorate. Leave a lot of space vacant so the guests can easily move around and place their suitcases if needed.
Don’t forget a cozy throw blanket! I’m currently wrapped up in this one, it’s so soft!
Do have at least one lamp if not two on either side of the bed. This way, your guests can read at night. Another idea is to use a desk in place of a nightstand. You get a 2-for-1 this way!
