While getting ready for my spring home tour, I decided to play around a bit with the buffet in my dining room. Buffets and console tables are interchangeable and styling works the same. Today I want to show you how to style a console table for spring – 6 different ways.
First up is my everyday look.

Console Table Style 1
The recipe: a pair of buffet lamps, one tray, and a collection of 3 vases of varying heights and colors within the tray. Add some florals or greenery and you’re set!
I shopped my home for the rest of these looks.
Console Table Style 2
Here, I swapped out the buffet lamps for one large table lamp on one side and a large vase on the other side. I love how the pink and coral stems stand out against the gray wall. Then I added a metallic bowl set on a couple of books for some height.

Console Table Style 3
This time I kept the vase but added a pair of tall candle holders to the other side. I also kept the stack of coffee table books in the middle and swapped out the bowl for the sculpture.

Then I thought I would separate the candle holders and bring back the tray from the first photo. I kept the vases, but swapped out the green stems for some spring hydrangeas. I love the navy and white paired with pale lime green.

Console Table Style 5
In this photo, I am using the table lamp on one side and my favorite vase with bright yellow floral stems on the other. Then I added a pair of wooden candlesticks and a coral colored candle to the middle. So springy here!

Lastly, I brought back my buffet lamps and added a trio of items to the middle, including my white pedestal fruit bowl filled with granny smith apples. I think this navy and white, green, and coral color combo might be my favorite for spring this year!
Console Table Styling Tips
- Use groups of 3. Notice I always have 3 separate items or groups of 3 on the buffet.
- Use a tray to corral items.
- Mix in different materials, shapes or textures of the items you are displaying.
- Use coffee table books to add height where needed.
- Add floral and greenery, fresh or faux!
I love to change up the decor in my dining room for the season, and I think spring is my favorite. However, you can use these styling tips for anytime of the year and use different items according to each season.
