What’s a pouf, you say? Don’t worry, I’ll explain it below. Ottomans, poufs and benches (oh my!) are so very versatile, which I love! Let me show how they can work for you.

I love to use an ottoman as a coffee table in a living or family room. Why? It serves as a coffee table plus a comfortable spot to prop up your feet. If you need a place to set a drink, just place a tray in the middle. Not only is this stylish, but very functional.

A leather ottoman is extremely handsome and easy to care for and very kid friendly. Bonus: you can use an ottoman for extra seating as it is easy to move around!

I love this ottoman from Crate and Barrel with 2 removable serving trays.  Just pull them out when you need them!

poufs

The pouf (soft & easy to move around & perfect for adding texture) has become a very popular item as of recent. You can drop one of these anywhere you need a place to prop your feet.

If you have a sitting area in your bedroom, this is a great spot for a pouf.  I love the detail on the one I used in this bedroom project below.

Place a bench at the foot of the bed as a spot to set your purse or to sit when putting on your shoes. This is a great way to make a design transition and works really well if you don’t have a footboard.

But, how do you choose? I know it’s hard. Recently, I polled my IG followers about decision fatigue. So many of them have a hard time making decisions, and I get it, especially when you have so many good choices!

My advice? When you have several good options, narrow it down and then just pick one or ask someone else (not everyone) to choose for you. Ask someone you trust, and if they can tell you why, then that’s even better.
