My client is moving into a brand new home, starting from scratch, and asked for a warm and cozy, vintage style office.
She is a health coach and wants a rustic, vintage-home look that is clean looking but not stark. Since she will be meeting with clients here the space needs to feel warm, cozy, calm, peaceful and inviting. My client likes fall colors, particularly greens and browns.
Her requests include a desk, open and closed storage, a seating area for meeting with clients, drapes, a cozy rug, and a gallery wall arrangement.
Here is my solution.
A few details to note: The bookcases not only have closed storage and open shelving, but have feet so that the cords from her computer can slip underneath to be plugged in.
How cute is that side table in the seating area? It has so much character!
I love a gallery wall, and I suggested an asymmetrical arrangement to give a relaxed vibe here as opposed to a symmetrical one. The key here is to use fewer pieces in larger frames to keep it clean looking.
The soft, shag rug and warm colored drapes help this office feel cozy and comfortable. My client will be bringing in live plants too. Plants, live or faux, are essential to any space. They bring life to a room but also help create a peaceful vibe.
This room is already painted a light, calming neutral gray. By bringing in warm wood tones and different textures with materials we create a warm and cozy vintage style home office.
