Hiring
an interior designer is the best option for your remodel or decor project. It will save you time, money, stress and help you make the right decisions. However, there may be times when a designer is not the right fit for your needs.
To save you some time and a possible headache, let me shed some light on why I may not be the right designer for you.
Before jumping into the reasons, here are some posts that might help you find the best option for your design project:
Now that you’re all caught up with the interior design field,
here are some of the reasons why we shouldn’t partner up for your design project:
Don’t get me wrong, I love shopping, especially when we do it to create a mood in your home.
However, shopping with my clients is something I only do in
my Designer for a Day package for kitchen and bathroom materials and finishes. If you need help deciding on the countertops, tile, hardware, lighting selections, etc., for your bathroom remodel, or if you're building a new home and need someone to come to the design center to help you make those decisions, this package is for you.

I love when you have a design goal and envision your space, but if you think a design project is something that will happen in a couple of weeks, I might not be the right fit for you.
It usually takes two-four weeks before I can get started
because plenty of work goes “behind the scenes,”
like measuring your space, coming up with the proper design according to your style, and coordinating with your contractor or architect. It’s a thorough process and takes time to create a plan.
Like I always say to my clients, good design takes time. Any designer that promises you a quick project might be thinking about getting your business rather than about the quality of a project. In the long run, you may spend more money if you want things quickly.
If you're looking to purchase items from budget-friendly sources like Wayfair or Amazon, someone other than me might be a better designer for you.
I take pride in sourcing quality items from trusted wholesale vendors and select high-end retailers for my clients. When you choose quality materials it not only elevates the design but also ensures durability.
One of the first things we discuss during our discovery call with my clients is your budget. I respect your budget and adjust accordingly based on your design style and ultimate goal. Since it's a crucial part and sometimes you need an extra hand setting up a budget,
I’ve created this FREE Guide that will show you how to create a realistic budget for your project.
While I make many of the decisions, a design project is a collaborative process.
I need your initial input to get me going in the right direction. We need to know your specific wants, needs, goals, likes, and dislikes to make it personalized for you. We aim for a balanced approach; combining your preferences and my design expertise leads to get the most satisfying results.
If you’re unsure if it’s the right time to hire a designer, we might not be a good fit. When we start working together, I like for my clients to be
fully excited about their vision and to put their complete trust in me. That way, I can create something that's beautiful and functional and speaks to you and your family. I understand it’s a significant investment, so my next step after our Discovery Call is a
Design Consultation to meet with you in person and get to know your home. After hearing what you want and learning more about your lifestyle, it will help me present suitable options to fit your needs and get us closer to the ultimate goal. Comment below with any questions you have about this process, and I’ll be happy to assist!
Remember,
finding the right interior designer is about finding the perfect match for your unique project and design goals. While I may not be the right fit for everyone, I hope this post helps you understand my approach and assists you in making an informed decision. Remember to share this with your friends and family and pin it here as an inspiration!
